Mediation Week 2019
Theme: ‘Family mediation’
From 14 until 18 October the third edition of the annual Mediation Week will take place. During this week you may partake in various activities throughout the country and will – through different media channels – be offered more information about the mediatory profession. The initiator and organiser of this week is the Dutch Mediators’ Association (NMv or Nederlandse Mediatorsvereniging),the Dutch professional union with over 2.200 associated mediators.
This year’s Week of Mediation is themed ‘Family Mediation’. Family ties can be enormously robust, but if things do go wrong, the impact may be devastating. Family conflicts, therefore, are always more than ‘legal matters’. A family mediator can be of great significance here. For instance, in problems accompanying divorce, a question of inheritance or in ‘ordinary’ disputes between family members.
On this website you will find more information about family mediation. Interested in the results of family mediation? Read one or more experience reports here. Do you prefer to participate actively, in a workshop? Consult this year’s programme or use the map to discover activities near you.
Want to stay updated? On our Facebook, Twitter and Linked In pages we pay extra attention to family mediation during this year’s Mediation Week. Keep an eye on our channels!
